Impression of “Sortedams sø” in Copenhagen.
The three Copenhagen lakes, Sortedams Sø, Peblinge Sø and Sankt Jørgens Sø – called the Lakes – stretch from north to south as an almost three kilometer long arc west of the inner city. The lakes can be crossed in four places: via Fredens Bro, Dronning Louises Bro, Gyldenløvesgade and Kampmannsgade. The lakes have been important for Copenhagen as a water supply reservoir until 1959 and until the 1860s also for defense purposes. Source: https://lex.dk/S%C3%B8erne
