Music In Jorcks Passage
70X100 CM
Oil on canvas
By Marios Orozco
Painted in August 2026
Sometimes the best moments in a city are the ones you never planned.
In Music in Jorcks Passage, Marios Orozco captures a small encounter in the middle of Copenhagen. A street musician sits playing his violin while a woman stops with her dog to listen. His violin case lies open on the pavement, and for a moment, an ordinary walk through the city becomes something worth stopping for.
The historic passage is painted in Marios’ unmistakable colors. Turquoise, orange, purple, green and deep blue replace the muted tones of everyday architecture, while the tall columns and patterned pavement lead the eye through the scene. Even the familiar LFC sign and details of the surrounding shops become part of this colorful version of Copenhagen.
But the people are what give the painting its story. It is about that brief connection between strangers that happens all the time in a living city—a musician playing, someone choosing to stop and listen, and a curious dog caught somewhere in between.
Marios has always been drawn to Copenhagen not only for its buildings and landmarks, but for the life happening around them. Music in Jorcks Passage captures exactly that: a real place, a simple moment, and a little bit of unexpected magic in the middle of the day.
A colorful piece of Copenhagen life and a reminder that sometimes it’s worth stopping for a moment and listening.
