The 126 meter long and 19 meter wide building in the Dutch Renaissance – Børsen – was for Christian IV (1577-1648) built in the years 1619-1625 on a narrow dam by the two brothers, the builders Lorenz Steenwinckel (1585 – earliest 1619) and Hans Steenwinckel den Yngre (1587-1639). Marios loves to paint the old buildings in Copenhagen. Because of their beautiful and complex architecture with decorated facades, rooftops and spiral towers they are very inspiring for Marios.
Børsen burned down in April 2024.
